High Speed Electric Motorcycle Test on US Interstate

Introduction to the Shandoka Electric Motorcycle Test

We set up this ride as a first test of the top speed of the converted Maxim motorcycle built on the frame that inspired the adapter. Earlier testing shows the system is temperature-stable in summer heat, and on a 95F day, it was time to see how the engineering decisions we made would hold up.

Engineering Behind the High-Speed Performance

Advanced Design Features

Our electric motorcycle is not just about speed; it's about intelligent engineering. For instance, in the pack, we used oversized pure-copper conductive plates capable of handling 10x the anticipated current, a critical factor for high-speed stability and efficiency.

This specific feature ensures that the motorcycle can handle high currents without overheating, which is essential for maintaining top speed and performance during prolonged use.

Real-World Test Conditions and Results

Test Ride Experience and Observations

At full power, this motor can draw 500 Amps of electricity to push the acceleration and crush the fat tire tread into the pavement. Our approach was a short and slow-speed ride to a center-lane access ramp to the toll-express lanes.

Speed and Stability Analysis

The motorcycle achieved a top speed of 81 mph / 130 kph, with the motor hitting 140F / 60C but quickly cooling down. These numbers not only show the bike’s capability but also the efficiency of our cooling system.
